My name is Gui Diaz-Berrio and I’m an Economist by training and Data Scientist by trade. I’m currently working on Marketing Science through a consultancy I founded, Pinemarsh, where I help clients set up Marketing Measurement projects or provide training on Marketing Science. I also run a live course, Marketing Science Bootcamp, teaching the fundamentals of Marketing Science.

This is my personal blog, and it mostly serves as a place to write things in order to think them through. Topics range from Marketing Science, Data Science, and Economics to Engineering, LLMs, and whatever book or idea I’m currently working through. Posts are either me working through my own thoughts, picking up and stress-testing ideas from reading or watching, trying to learn something new, or occasionally playing Advocatus diaboli — steelmanning arguments I don’t necessarily hold.

Every post is a work in progress, not ready for publication in a more formal medium. The good ones eventually make their way to one of my Substacks — either for broader analytical writing or for Marketing Science specifically. Do not take anything here too seriously, and feel free to reach out if you have questions, comments, or suggestions.
